Lake Erie College Merit Scholarships and Awards
Upon acceptance to Lake Erie College, your high school transcript – cumulative GPA and test scores – will also be used to determine your merit scholarship.
Should you apply test-optional, LEC will use the additional materials submitted along with information on the high school transcript to determine your merit scholarship. This scholarship will be renewed if you meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standard and remain enrolled full-time.
PRESIDENTIAL: $18,000 per year 3.75+ GPA ACT 26+ or SAT 1230+
TIBERIUS: $16,000 per year 3.5+ GPA ACT 24+ or SAT 1160+
FOUNDERS: $14,000 per year 3.0+ GPA ACT 22+ or SAT 1100+
DEANS: $12,000 per year 2.75+ GPA ACT 20+ or SAT 1030+
LEADERSHIP: $10,000 per year 2.5+ GPA ACT 18+ or SAT 960+
Specialty Awards from Lake Erie College
Twin Scholarship — Half Tuition
Lake Erie College has a unique scholarship opportunity for twins. Since 1982, we have offered the Twin Scholarship — which is equal to one-half of the tuition for each twin, essentially enabling twins to receive two college tuitions for the price of one. This award is given in place of any merit award. If a twin is eligible for a higher merit award, that will be given.
Legacy Scholarship — $2,000
Awarded to children or grandchildren of Lake Erie College alumni enrolled as full-time (12 credit hours or more) undergraduate students earning their first bachelor’s degree.
Equine Talent Scholarship — Amount Varies
First-time freshmen and transfer students pursuing a major in equine studies may apply for one of three Equine Talent Scholarships. United States Pony Club and 4H members may apply for Equine Talent Scholarships specific to their club. Please complete one of the following applications and submit the requested materials to admission@365dafa6.com within two weeks of being accepted to Lake Erie College. Use the subject line "EQ Talent Application." The scholarship amount will be determined by overall skill level, depth of equine resume, and financial need (based on FAFSA results).
Athletic Scholarships
Lake Erie College is affiliated with NCAA Division II, and our teams participate in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. Athletic scholarships are available to those student-athletes who qualify.
General Requirements
All of Lake Erie College's awards are based on full-time undergraduate enrollment. Lake Erie College's merit and need-based awards are tuition-based and, in combination, cannot exceed the value of tuition and fees. Students enrolled less than full-time (12 credit hours) will be billed hourly. Lake Erie College awards all require full-time enrollment to receive
Merit awards and specialty awards may be renewed for 4 years or 8 semesters, provided Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) has been met. Renewal of need-based awards requires completing a FAFSA for that new academic year and is limited to 4 years or 8 semesters.

The Financial Aid Office will receive your FAFSA in about a week. We will determine your eligibility for any Federal, State, or Lake Erie college grants.
